Sales Tax Calculation

Applicable sales tax is calculated at checkout based on factors that may include:

  • The products purchased

  • The shipping destination

  • Applicable state and local tax rates

  • Product tax classifications

  • OfficeKoala’s tax collection obligations

OfficeKoala collects and remits sales tax in jurisdictions where required by applicable law.

Unless otherwise stated, product prices displayed on our website do not include sales tax. Any applicable sales tax will be shown separately during checkout and included in the final order total.

Tax-Exempt Orders

Customers making a qualifying tax-exempt or resale purchase must contact hello@officekoala.com before placing the order.

Please provide:

  • Your name or company name

  • Billing and shipping information

  • The email address that will be used to place the order

  • A current and valid resale certificate or other applicable tax-exemption documentation

OfficeKoala must review and approve the documentation before the tax exemption can be applied. Approval is not automatic, and additional information may be requested.

After approval, the customer may be required to place the order using the same email address associated with the approved tax-exempt customer account.

Previously Placed Orders

We cannot guarantee that a tax exemption can be applied retroactively after an order has been submitted or processed.

If sales tax was charged on an order that you believe qualified for an exemption, contact us with your order number and supporting documentation. We will review the request, but approval or refund of the tax is subject to applicable tax requirements and our ability to correct the transaction.

Taxes on Refunds

When an eligible order or product is refunded, the applicable sales tax associated with the approved refund will generally be returned to the original payment method.

Shipping charges, taxes on shipping, partial refunds, and other adjustments may be handled according to the circumstances of the order and applicable tax requirements.

Please allow additional time for your bank, credit-card company, or payment provider to post the refund.

Marketplace Purchases

Orders placed through TikTok Shop, Walmart, eBay, Amazon, or another third-party marketplace may have sales tax calculated, collected, and remitted by that marketplace.

Questions concerning the tax charged on a marketplace order should generally be submitted through the marketplace where the purchase was completed.

Duties and Import Charges

For orders shipped outside the United States, the recipient may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country.

Unless expressly collected during checkout, these charges are not included in the product price or shipping charge and are the responsibility of the recipient.
